Jackson County's Foot Specialist
Dr. Desiree J. McGann has been serving the citizens of Jackson County, since 1998. A native of the island of Jamaica, she followed in the footsteps of a family friend and mentor and enrolled at Dr. William M. Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine in Chicago, Illinois in 1989. After graduating in 1993 with a Doctor of Podiatric Medicine degree, she stayed in Chicago to complete two years of residency training at Illinois Masonic Medical Center and Cook County Hospital. It was a the County Hospital that Dr. McGann developed her interest in Diabetic foot care as she saw first hand the important role of the Podiatrist in the prevention of foot amputations. In 2005, she took time off from private practice to pursue further surgical training at Wyckoff Heights Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York. Dr. McGann has returned to the area with a renewed commitment to providing solutions to the foot care needs of Jackson County residents.
As a foot specialist, the Doctor of Podiatric Medicine (D.P.M.) is trained in the evaluation, diagnosis and treatment of diseases and injuries of the human foot.
